Mission Australia and Communities for Children are pleased to invite you to a FREE parent information session, hosted by Talk Time Speech and Language Pathology and the Benevolent Society.
The focus of this information session is how you can help your child to be ready to learn to read and write when they start Prep!
Speech Pathologists from Talk Time and Jackie Black (Occupational Therapist) from the Cairns Early Years Centre will combine forces to give you practical, but fun ideas for helping your children be ready for Prep. Children have so much to learn in the first year! Find out how to get the foundational skills to be ready for reading, spelling and writing in Prep.
What is it?
Fun, easy and effective strategies to teach the skills children require to learn to read and write (+ so much more)
Speech pathologists will cover early, and pre-literacy skills (Talk Time)
Occupational Therapist Jackie Black will cover fine motor and pre-writing skills (Cairns Early Years Centre)
Opportunity to chat with the speech pathologists and occupational therapist after the session
Who is it for?
All parents of children aged 2-5 years
